Final Report/Royal Commission[edit]

I've just added link to Victorian Royal Commission Report Home as the report has not yet been finalised (Feb 2010).I hope this complies with wikipedia policy.ThanksErn Malleyscrub (talk) 02:06, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

SP Ausnet needs reference[edit]

Still on training wheels here, but I think I viewed a "previous edit" page which seems to indicate Nick Carson added the paragraph about SP Ausnet and "intimidation". I am aware that a Ms Barrow, CFA brigade lieutenant was intimidated by an anonymous email the night before she was to appear in the witness box, but I have no recollection of any proceedings at the Royal Commission, or any media reports of alleged intimidation of pole inspector Jason Leech by any third party. Counsel assisting Jack Rush QC certainly robustly challenged Leech repeatedly as to whether UAMs solicitors had "ghosted" his witness statement, but Rush did not suggest in any way that the witness had been intimidated by anybody to sign that witness statement. If we start getting into this sort of detail, there is a risk that it could get bogged down in minutiae...! so maybe we could delete this, unless I am oblivious to important verifiable information. (always on the lookout for verifiable scandal ;-) --PleaseExplayne (talk) 15:29, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

relationship to Black_Saturday_bushfires page[edit]

It was discussed over there that it will need to be edited and streamlined in the light of Royal Commission findings. It is already big, despite the entries for the two most important fires Kilmore East and Murrindindi Mill being quite rudimentary. I would appreciate feedback if it might be time for more experienced Wikipedians to guide a discussion on dealing with the two big killers Kilmore East and Murrindindi each splitting off to their own page (or deal with thenm here. If I add all the detail I would like about those two, on the Black_Saturday_bushfires page, it will go from 120kB to about double that! There is much excellent detail about individual fires emerging in counsel assisting submissions, documents that I can summarize for each fire with about 5-10 bullet points, with a link to the full submission e.g. The Kilmore East fire - do people feel that would fit best here, or over at Black_Saturday_bushfires?--PleaseExplayne (talk) 15:29, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

The recommendations of the Commission are barely mentioned. Rather, the article relies heavily on the opinions of Robert Manne.--Jack Upland (talk) 23:39, 11 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
