Mid-session scores[edit]

Is there any reason why scores may not be posted until the session is complete? Other sports pages have scores updated when matches are in progress. ZoeL (talk) 09:41, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Highest break[edit]

Should we put the highest break up now as 140 Ronnie O'Sullivan and update if there is a higher break or should we leave it until the end of the tournament? ZoeL (talk) 11:45, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Honours[edit]

Including people's honours (MBE, OBE) against their names in these results summaries is, in my view, not merely unnecessary but downright strange. I took them out but this was reverted on the grounds that it was "disrespectful", a claim that I have to say I find ludicrous. What say you? 86.134.55.144 (talk) 13:07, 21 April 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Thanks, Flowerparty. I wondered if I was going daft here, seeing two people saying they should be kept. So I asked several people independently, and they all thought it was inappropriate. Notable happenings[edit]

Final Referee[edit]

I too provided a link to the snooker article but it was immediately removed by Armbrust. Apparently if you don't already know what snooker is you're out of luck, we can't even give them a helpful link. What is the procedure to follow when someone has appointed themselves the mother superior of an article and go through many times a day reversing any contributions they don't happen to like? - Mark Dixon (talk) 03:25, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I removed it because:

  1. The other snooker tournament pages doesn't have this link either.
  2. I think if someone don't know what snooker is, then he would not search for the "World Snooker Championship 2009". And if he find it at random, and find it interestin then he/she should search on the wikipedia.

I put the link back because even..."if someone don't know what snooker is (sic)" the link gives them the necessary information to find that out. Maybe the other snooker tournament pages should have the link too. It's probably more important than knowing User:Armbrust's height and weight. Dr. Dan (talk) 05:07, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

this really is a bit of nonsence. I too wondered about this when reading the article during the tournament and felt sure someone would place an early link to the sport snooker. I suggest desenters take a look at articles for our most popular sport, soccer. Both the articles FA Cup Final 2008 and FA Cup 2008-09 contain a link in the first sentence to the main article football. Enough said. (outdent) Links are cheap. There is no reason not to link to Snooker. I routinely link to the main game article at every article that applies, e.g. "Eleven-ball is a pool (pocket billiards) game played in the Kingdom of Tonga..." and "Ndele X.
