Garmisch or Garmisch-Partenkirchen?

[edit]

Should we refer to Garmisch-Partenkirchen by using full name. Garmisch was the western and Partenkirchen the eastern part of the merged town. To my understand the Kandahar slope (DH, SG, GS) is in the Garmisch area whereas the Gudiberg slope (SL) is in the Partenkirchen area. So, in that sense, it's OK to call the competition venue as Garmisch this year, but not when there is a slalom event in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. --August90 (talk) 18:22, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

men and ladies?

[edit]

If we are calling women ladies, shouldn't we be calling the men gentlemen? Or is this some skiing terminology? Dleit Ḵaa (talk) 04:38, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's how the FIS refers to them. Ravendrop 05:02, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
