Consensus team[edit]

I have started putting together {{2011 NCAA Division I FBS College Football Consensus All-Americans}}. On offense and special teams a lot of positions did not have enough players that got 3 out of the 5 majors. Do Ryan Broyles, Robert Woods (wide receiver), Levy Adcock, Nate Potter, Dwayne Allen, Shawn Powell (American football), Joe Adams (wide receiver), and Tyler Lockett get consensus honors?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 16:13, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have not seen a consensus all-America team official release by the NCAA.

Maybe there is a rule that ties are broken by number of first place votes, meaning that Allen can not be a consensus with only one first place vote in this case.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 23:25, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

According to the NCAA Statistics Policy Book, "If there is a tie at a position in football for first team, or a tie for the final player on the first or second team in basketball, then the players who are tied shall be named to the team." Probably, there will be an addition made at Sports Reference. Kevin Zeitler was added later than the others. If no addition is made there, we have to wait until next football seasons, NCAA media guide. Rivals.com or Yahoo! Sports All-America Team[edit]

I'm not sure if the "Rivals.com" All-American Team has been replaced by Yahoo! Sports All-America Team after I came across a December 8 article. I know that Yahoo owns Rivals.com, but it seems that this is the only media outlet that we are missing.

I'm assuming that this is the same Rivals.com All-America Team that we have been waiting for except that it has a new name

My apologizes, you're right, we are waiting on CFN's AA team. So as far as Rivals/Yahoo, what should we list it as for Player X, Y, Z? Rivals.com like its been or Yahoo! Sports? I am against Phil Steele. He is a member of the committees for one of the lists already included. I think it might have been FWAA.
