Nazi anthem snafu swept under the rug![edit]

There is a big scandal in Germany, because the medal ceremony of K2-1000 meters ladies played the banned nazi version first stanza lyrics of the Haydn-anthem (Germany, Germany over everything, Germany rule over the world, blahblah...) rather than the currently-official third stanza (Liberty, egality and enlightement for all of Germany, blahblah...) The german press and media is full of the Szeged-2011 anthem scandal and yet this article has no word about it at all? Maybe the hungarian contributors are trying to put censorship on this article? Medal count[edit]

As I have seen, there have been an issue during the WCh about how to rank the countries (overall first or gold first). It seems to be solved, so I'd come up with another stuff, the paracanoe. Checking out the previous year's championship, where paracanoe had first a non-exhibition event status, the results were added with full value, awarding for example Tahiti its fist ever gold medal. This was also supported by an official medal list. I was unable to find any table for this year's event yet, only the WCh's paracanoe info brochure, in which they sate that the winners of the paracanoe competitions are awarded medals. It does not clarify if they count to the medal list or not, but if we are consequent, it may be added to this years WCh as well. I also find interesting, that on the French and German wikiarticle of the event (the only two where paracanoe results are listed) they count it with full value.

However, if there are other official sources which state otherwise, the number of official events should be reduced to 29 and should mention that the paracanoe runs were only for exhibition. – Thehoboclown (talk) 16:17, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Considering that in the official program the paracanoe races were listed, and even the title holders were highlighted, these results were officially part of the event and should be included to the medal tables. However, since the paracanoe events are managed somewhat separated, I've divided the results to three part (canoe, paracanoe, overall), as it reflects the best for the situation and it gives the most complete and factually most correct explanation of the medal allocation. – Thehoboclown (talk) 16:52, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
