Billy Ballew Merger w/ Vision Aviation[edit]

An announcement on MRN.com just came out that said that Billy Ballew Motorsports would be merging with Vision Aviation Racing and running the #15 and #51 Toyotas for Justin Johnson and Dusty Davis. This should be updated ASAP.http://www.motorracingnetwork.com/Race-Series/NASCAR-Camping-World-Trucks/News/Articles/2010/12/Ballew-Merges-with-Vision-Aviation.aspxGaeaman787 (talk) 07:01, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ineligible?[edit]

At the end of the points table, there are few drivers listed under Ineligible for Camping World Truck championship points. However, there isn't any explanation why they are ineligible. Or at least I couldn't find it. 82.141.119.195 (talk) 05:32, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's probably because for some reason this article does not feature a rule changes section from last year, whereas both the Nationwide Series and the Sprint Cup Series articles do.
Those drivers are ineligible for Truck points as they indicated on their NASCAR license for this year that they wanted to score points in a different series - since a new rule brought in this year only allows a driver to score points in one series, in order to prevent all the Cup regulars from winning the other two championships. And what's the point to even participate, if it is sure from start that they don't get any points? Do they get prize money? 82.141.119.195 (talk) 00:25, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(This is becoming forumy...)
Well, they do still earn prize money, and they still earn owner points for the car they drive in. Take for example just this weekend in Iowa in the Nationwide race. Quali was rained out and set by owner points, so Drew Herring sat on the pole as he was driving the 20, despite the fact Hamlin and Logano had been driving that car all season thus far. Sponsorship/contractual obligations may also be another thing, as is the fact that it's just more seat time. TheChrisD RantsEdits 00:42, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Is there some way to see which series each driver has chosen? I was going to check standings for Kimi Räikkönen, but here and also in 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series, he is listed to be "ineligible". He is not mentioned at all in Sprint Cup article.
To that WP:FORUM thing, these things should be explained in the articles. These are not opinions or speculations, but info regarding the series. Or is there a article or section somewhere describing the prize money thing? 85.217.47.205 (talk) 02:02, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, the prize money that the drivers receive is not notable, and truthfully none of our business. I'm working on removing it. -- Nascar1996(TalkContribs) 02:25, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Why not? Isn't that public information like any other sports prize money? Note that this is not regular salary, but these are won according to placement in the race.
And actually, there was nothing to remove, only request here that those should be explained. 85.217.41.81 (talk) 08:29, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore, just checked it, and the prize moneys are in the drivers data in each races info. So don't know whose business it is, but they are freely lookable. 85.217.41.81 (talk) 08:32, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
