New name for the article

[edit]

Hi. It just came to my mind that if the article should be moved to 2011 Yingjiang earthquake as the region severely damaged by it is highly limited to this particular county, Yingjiang County. In addition, the name for 2008 Yingjiang earthquakes can be also taken as an example. Therefore, I thinks 2011 Yingjiang earthquake would make more sense. I disagree. The quake had farther reaching effects than just the one county, and most major news reports on the incident refer to it as having occurred in Yunan province, and not just specifically Yingjiang. --Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 12:58, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I do not think there is any significant effect outside the Yingjiang County as all news source based on China take zh:2011年盈江地震, which literally means 2011 Yingjiang earthquake, as the name referring to this earthquake.Wo.luren (talk) 05:00, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

if you are sure then ok —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.56.114.92 (talk) 03:40, 19 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

death toll

[edit]

Recently some editors kept changing death toll from 25 to 27. However, the sources, Allvoices.com or Myvisitingcard.com, are not reliable sources per Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources#Self-published sources (online and paper). And the information provided by the sources are conflicting: 25 deaths and 27 deaths in the same article. So I reverted the edits and adopted the Xinhua News Agency's death toll: 25. Thanks. --Pengyanan (talk) 11:47, 19 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
