Final ranking

There shouldn't be two tables. Lets combine the one for WC qualificaltion and Olympics qualification in one table with another column. Need either another two colors or letters in the colors. Like O for Olympics, OQ, Olympic qualification and WC for World Championship. -Koppapa (talk) 11:40, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Tiebreakers

Interestingly i just read in the regulations that while the group stages are not finished the first tie-breaker is not direct matches but goal difference. So, the current ranking is not following the regulations, but i think we leave it this was to avoid confusion. Capacity

It might be not so important, but it looks like there's a discrepancy between the listed capacity and the real capacity of the arenas.

For example the competition's wiki article lists the capacity of Millenium Center at 5,000, while it listed in the wiki article of the arena at 4,058 and 4,000 in the EHF match reports. Similarly to this, the max. capacity of Čair Sports Center is given at 5,000 here and 4,000 in the EHF report, but the other numbers also differ from the ones in the official materials.

I don't know the reason behind (different configuration, safety zones, no standing places allowed, whatever), but I think the article should stick to the numbers given by the official European Handball Federation stuffs. – Thehoboclown (talk) 12:36, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Well, I just corrected the hall capacities in accordance with the match reports. However, I did not touch the sports halls' respective articles since I'm not sure if these numbers apply for all handball events or only for the ECh. (EHF definitely have a strict rule of organization, which might prohibit the usage of some part of the area, while in other events, like a simple league match there might have some extra places e.g. standing places or mobile stands which might not allowed in this case.) – Thehoboclown (talk) 14:53, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Olympics

So if Serbia doesn't win the tourney but lets say Spain. Spain will qualify directly to the Olympics. Then Spain's place in the Olympic-qualifying tournay is vacant, so there are three teams that qualify to those olympic qualifiers, right? I already checked propositions, here. Near the end of the second page it stands: If one or more teams ranked between 2 – 7 at the 2011 World Championships have already obtained an entry place, the team ranked 8 (or thereafter) at the World Championship 2011 have the right to take part in the IHF Qualification Tournaments. Therefore, if Spain, Croatia or Denmark wins Euro they will directly qualify to the Olympics, while their place in qualifications will be taken by 8th team from last years World Championship. In this particular case Poland. Only if Serbia wins this years Euro they will directly qualify to the Olympic, Spain, Croatia and Denmark will keep their places in Olympic qualifications, and both 5th and 6th placed team will qualify for the Olympic qualification. Tie-breaker ???

I dont understand why Macedonia is ranked better than Germany and advance to the 5th place match ! If it is goal difference criteria, Germany scored more goals than Macedonia. It is direct matches between all teams with the same points. The rules are on page 72 of http://ebook.eurohandball.com/SRB2012Guide/. Macedonia, Germany, Poland all have 5 points. The matches between them: Macedonia-Poland 27-25, Germany-Macedonia 24-23, Poland-Germany 33-32. They each have 2 points in matches between them. The next criteria is goal difference in matches between them. Macedonia has +1, Germany has 0, Poland has -1. This decides their position. PrimeHunter (talk) 03:50, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

The Final ranking table

I am sorry but all the different letters and the very long description in the legend together with the fact that the different colours simply are shades of blue makes it very confusing. At least to me. I have tried to make it more easy to read several times, but have been undone in minutes after I have made the change. Attack on Croatian fans

This information is not in article [1] [2]. Also rumor pre and after Serbia vs Croatia semifinal game that Croatian fans that enter Belgrade Arena will not live alive if Croatia wins. --Domjanovich (talk) 08:12, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
