New article with info from this one[edit]

In our discussion we have mentioned that the two galleries of prospective and declined candidates should be kept for historical reasons. I fully agree! But this article does not give those sections their full credit. The 2011 section in the main article has the same problem. It was to big and extensive to be kept in an overall article. So that is why I have migrated all three sections to a new article:

The purpose of the new article is to cover the time period of the Republican presidential race from the 2008 election to the New Hampshire primary, 2012. And even though the three migrated sections are well written and with a lot of references, the new article need some expert attention to be of highest quality. So if you have the knowledge, the resources and the time, please help it out. Jack Bornholm (talk) 21:27, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting ... Hope that works out. — Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 01:34, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am working on a very similar proposal (trying to preserve historical information about prospective candidates) over on the talkpage for the United States presidential election, 2016 article. Once I get that hammered out, I will try and get something similar up and running for the 2012 race... which at the moment is heavily hindsight-biased. 74.192.84.101 (talk) 12:37, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
