Standings table

[edit]

Hello! Why remove the color key and change the colors for the standings table? The key was informative, and the setup before the change was consistent with other curling pages on Wikipedia. Thanks. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 03:24, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also, it would have been preferable if the standings table were updated after the draw is completely finished. That way, there's less confusion regarding which draw the stats are actually from, since there is a "as of Draw X" line. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 03:32, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The colour key is not on any other Brier page, nor on any of the Scotties pages. This is consistent with Canadian Men and Women's National Championships, and the colours are consistent with all other Scotties and Brier pages. As for the draw updates, draw 17 was over, I updated the standings and removed as of because round robin is over. Not sure what your issue is? Who is it confusing if the draw is over and the standings are being updated? I save the page before there are edit conflicts and it has to be redone. Next time I would suggest waiting a bit before complaining! Sirrussellott (talk) 04:01, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Can we all be civil, please? Curling is a gentleman's sport, and therefore it would be nice if we could all be gentlemen in our discussions. -- Earl Andrew - talk 04:16, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry if I came off as complaining. I did not intend to complain about anything, I just wanted to know your reasoning behind your actions. I don't really understand your questions, so if you could clarify them, that would help me better answer them. I'd like to say that I feel that keeping the Canadian Men's and Women's National Championships "separate" from the rest of the curling pages isn't very constructive to achieving consistency. When I mentioned updating standings after the draw was finished, I follow this principle throughout the event, because some editors choose to update information for certain teams that finish earlier than others, and it causes some confusion for readers and editors because the "as of Draw X" refers to the stats as of the previous draw, and the information should be current as of that draw. Otherwise, there would be, for example, stats as of draw 17 for a few teams but stats as of draw 16 for the other teams, which would not be consistent with the "as of" line. I understand that it was the end of the round robin when you had updated the standings, but I was merely suggesting that the principle be followed through to the end of the event. If you don't understand my reasoning, please let me know how I can clarify. Thanks. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 04:24, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
