Day-by-Day Summaries (Help & Support needed)[edit]

I had been writing few leads for Day-by-Day Summaries for 2013 AO grand slam & is in need of requiring immediate attention to improve this article & hence making it with this discussion page.

After thorough feasible study & meticulous giving great attention to precise and very careful details of all the men’s singles clique of 128-player (qualifiers, wild card entries, lucky loser entry & the 32 seeds) as well as women’s singles clique of 128-player, the prose for Day-by-Day Summaries (Day wise) along with lead for individual articles (Round-wise) is written summarizing the match results in 1 single sentences.

The problem I am currently facing is in the grammer (Verb, Adverb & Adjective) section of the sentences. For example, It is not possible to use new verbs for all (128 MS + 128 WS) matches & hence has to use repetative verbs. The most common being - in two straight sets / dismantles / defeats / had to defeat / defeating / edged out / square off / overcomes / overcame / taking out / gets past / who lost to / who went out to / had to earn victory by losing the first set / had an easy win over / made it to the fourth round / advanced to the fourth round / cruise into fourth round.

Although much care has been taken to not use words like (to maintain neutrality at all times) -'ABC beat XYZ, ABC wasted no time in reminding XYZ who was boss, ABC charges on, ABC buries XYZ, ABC was at his impenetrable best on XYZ, ABC blasts past XYZ, ABC dumped by XYZ, ABC stops XYZ, ABC brings down XYZ, and so on so as to not been read as a headline of some websites or magazines.

Please consider rectifying the text to represent fairly, proportionately, and as far as possible without bias, the match results summarizing in one sentence writing from a neutral point of view.

Had to defeat is not proper English. Wrong tense to start with. You can always have xyz player also advanced just having one or two big stories of the day. Also it all need referencing. To the editors involved with the day-to-day prose/tabular summaries: Please be aware of WP:TENSCR, which states that ndashes must be used and that no tennis scores should be placed in prose. Unplayed matches displayed in the results tables should be center-aligned. The prose sections require extensive copyediting, as they are rife with stylistic inconsistencies and grammatical errors, including improper capitalization, issues with past and present tenses, etc. I'll do what I can, but I'd request diligent attention from all editors of the day-to-day summaries in particular from the editors currently involved.
