Opens are not part of the World Tour in 2013[edit]

Linky linky link. So they should probably be removed from this page. Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs) 10:02, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I did not notice this detail when I create the article, actually Opens no longer part of the World Tour. I left them in a specific section, but don't know if it would be better for that one article itself. What do you think? Jonas kam (talk) 05:34, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Don't know. It's kind of a technicality, really, since the big teams will still play them (those in the midst of the season anyway). You could rename the article to exclude "world tour" from it, I suppose. They're still FIVB events, meaning they're above the continental circuits. Maybe the best thing to do is to create an separate article (2013 beach volleyball season or 2013 in beach volleyball I really do not know, would be a original content here) where they would all results (Grand Slams, Opens, Continental Cups and others described here). "World Tour" is a traditional beach volleyball circuit, I think it should remain as a separate article. Jonas kam (talk) 08:32, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
A title like that would lend itself to including the continental circuits. Which I suppose you totally could. But anyway, do what you gotta do. I'm really just passing through. Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs) 22:33, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

For the record, +1 !vote for the original layout scheme of the page[edit]

It's different from previous years, but it's better. It eliminates any stupidity over what the Brazilian players are called, for one, and gives more information without giving too much information, too. I support this reversion (though as the intervening edits were not unambiguous vandalism, I'm not sure a rollback was really the proper way of doing it, but that's splitting hairs). Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs) 22:40, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you, I'm Brazilian but it is ridiculous lack of criteria with respect to the names of the players, some are known by first name, surname and others by a nickname! This is a general mess. For this reason I reverted because it made changes to the page without discussion, but in this case it might have been better to do manually, for sure. The Hague event (at least) has a corporate sponsor[edit]

They're calling it the Transavia Grand Slam. Should we incorporate that name? Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs) 13:19, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Despite the FIVB refer the event as "The Hague Grand Slam" only, I'm not against using the sponsor name. :D Jonas kam (talk) 04:14, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well I'm not necessarily suggesting that we should nor should not. Just bringing it up. We should look at past precedents, existing policy, and so forth. Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs) 11:06, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
