Please stop uploading the logo from sportslogos.net. It has not been confirmed as official from MLB. Besides, it looks like it's been edited in MS Paint. --ÆAUSSIEevilÆ 01:01, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It can be confirmed as official here on page 74. The two-flag logo is identical to the one revealed on sportslogos.net. 174.236.68.145 (talk) 06:02, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In order for it to be included, the logo must be verifiable by reliable sources. It may be accessible, so long as several regular Wikipedia users are willing to register with and login to MLBpressbox.com to verify from the first link you cited. It should also be posted on World Series page on the main part of the sportslogos.net site; it is ineligible if it only came from the user postings on sportslogos' forum boards. the question is whether or not mlbpressbox.com is a reliable source. 174.254.163.187 (talk) 14:15, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
a media guide purchased at one of the team store could also qualify. 174.254.163.187 (talk) 14:16, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Intro is full of seemingly arbitrary trivia[edit]

"It is the first World Series since 1999 to pair the two teams with the best regular-season records in their respective leagues, and only the third in history (following the 1949 and 1958 Series) to feature two teams with identical regular-season records.[2] Because both teams shared the best overall regular-season records in baseball, this was only the fourth time since the introduction of the Division Series (1995) in which the team with the best regular-season record went on to win the World Series that season – the three previous occurrences being the 1998, 2007, and 2009 Series.[3][4]

The Red Sox won in six games, clinching their first World Series championship at their home field of Fenway Park since 1918 and becoming the second team in history (following the 1991 Minnesota Twins) to clinch a World Series championship after having finished the previous season in last place of its division."

I'm pretty sure that we could find a dozen more first whatevers to list out here! Is there any particular reason that we are listing these particular trivia so specifically? I'd rather see a better summary of the overall series in the lead. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about American baseball to write such a summary myself...but maybe at least include an appropriate summary of the games, rather than just random trivia? I tried to write a better summary including the individual game results ordered by time, and removed some of the arbitrary trivia. It could definitely use further improvement. (I am still not sure if it is relevant for the lead that the Red Sox were the second team in history to win the World Series after a last-place finish the previous season, for example...on top of my summary likely requiring refining.)
