Regionalisation

[edit]

In the BBC story for the 4th qualifying round draw they split the draw by region, north/south. I knew they regionalised for earlier rounds, but didn't appreciate they did it for all qualifying rounds (incidentally, there's no mention of it on the FA story). It got me thinking, we should probably include mention that the draw is regionalised and what the region splits are in each round (provided we can find sources).

Also, somewhere might it be worth mentioning how numbers are assigned in draws? In the FA Cup, I understand it's new entrants alphabetised, then ordered by where the qualifying teams were drawn in the previous round (it means even when you're knocked you can track where your team would have played right through to the final). Thoughts? HornetMike (talk)
