Faroe Islands' elimination
[edit]I read the discussion over removing the "on the next matchday" lists (though I can't recall where it is at the moment). While sometimes it is obvious that a team has been eliminated (add 3*games to their current points and if that still leaves them below a given spot, they can't attain that spot, which here gives Kazakhstan's elimination from direct qualification), sometimes, as here, it relies on looking at future matches and noting that no matter what their results, some outcomes (such as the elimination of Faroe Islands here) are certain. It isn't immediately clear just from the table that Faroe Islands must be eliminated, as they can still attain 12 points, more than any team but Germany has at present, and only from looking at the future match schedule can one see that at least one of Austria, Sweden and Republic of Ireland must finish with at least 13 points.
I suppose I do not see why the rule seems to be different (or at least applied differently) here: compiling the "on the next matchday" lists requires looking at the upcoming matches and noting what combinations of results will result in a team's qualification or elimination, while saying that Faroe Islands is eliminated requires looking at the upcoming matches and noting that every combination of results leaves Faroe Islands unable to qualify. In either case, we still have to look at "future history" to establish the claim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dpareja (talk • contribs) 21:55, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
Livescores
[edit]Hi
Per WP:LIVESCORES we should not add scores to matches still in play. Please wait until match is finished and then add the score. If you dont discuss here your edits will be considered disrutive and you might get warned and blocked. This has also been discussed on WT:FOOTY many times. QED237 (talk) 17:35, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
