There's a contradiction in your above statement. Of course it would be foolhardy to try to delete any notable coup attempts. This particular one, though, does not really seem to be notable according to WP:EVENT. This minor event is highly unlikely to have "enduring historical significance" or "significant lasting effect". It hardly got any international coverage. The article is therefore unlikely to ever grow much larger than a stub. In cases like this, it is often better to include any sourceable content that has any encyclopedic value (not anything that is verifiable is encyclopedic) in a more appropriate article. If this also applies to other coup attempts as your above comment suggests, it might actually be perhaps more interesting to create an article List of coup attempts in The Gambia. That way, combining several stubs may results in a more "meaty" (and probably also more interesting) article. --Randykitty (talk) 11:26, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree and I am proceeding to remove the tag. This was also reported on NPR and there is plenty of material available on the web to expand this article. It's also very notable for the rare prosecution of American citizens under the Neutrality Act. MosheEmes (talk) 18:35, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
