Article Deletion tag

[edit]

I am wondering why this article is marked for deletion. It is a current event article. Shadow Android (talk) 13:18, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is all over the news right now; it's the lead story on Google News as I read it here in Canada. It's obviously considered notable and relevant as an event. Zachary Klaas (talk) 17:04, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Do we really need an article for every shooting? Doesn't that just feed into the glorification of violence? If there must be, then can it just be 1 page listing all the shootings? 69.137.150.35 (talk) 18:53, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This article should probably be deleted. While the event is obviously notable, I don't see why any of the information listed here can't simply be listed under the 2014 shooting subheading of the Mall in Columbia article. Boyhominid (talk) 22:11, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Delete. I might add also that the source saying boyfriend/engaged only say it's a secondhand source from http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/shooting-suburban-baltimore-mall-report-article-1.1591124 which, incidentally, DOES NOT make that statement. This is, at best, unconfirmed rumour and no major news outlet has carried a relationship between the shooter and victims, or between the victims, so far.Oathed (talk) 23:23, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This article should not be deleted. It's a significant event that resulted in the death of 2 human beings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.14.131.132 (talk) 18:09, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are plenty of incidents that result in the deaths of two or even more people, not all of them have their own Wikipedia articles. Right now, I feel that information is just too scant to really warrant this being anything other than a subtopic under The Mall in Columbia. Not to mention - with many events like this, people lose interest after a while and, if this were to remain a separate article, it could risk becoming a stub.
