I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of 2016–17 South Pacific cyclone season's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 04:33, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mystery Category 4[edit]

Um excuse me. Do you see a category 4 track on the map? can somebody fix this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deghop (talkcontribs)

  • @Keith Edkins: I see the category 4 track on the map as well - Can you please remove it the next time you update the track map. :) Jason Rees (talk) 11:45, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox hurricane current[edit]

With the current deployment of Infobox hurricane current, I am opposed to saying that either 14F or Bart is a tropical storm per the JTWC since they are not saying that. We also can not say that it is a tropical storm per the SSHWS since that is taking windspeeds from the JTWC and assesing it on the SSHWS. It is also counted as Original Research imo. I also feel that it is better to have the letters TD and number 1 in the top right hand corner even though it colours both cells the same colour, as that is what is official and saves us from calling the system a Cat 2 when its actually a Cat 5 officially.Jason Rees (talk) 14:01, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Donna[edit]

What is the current strength, pressure, location, intensity, and movement of Donna? EBGamingWiki 10:56, 06 May 2017 (EST) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:C5F5:EEE0:40D8:E382:B630:7A19 (talk)

@Cyclonebiskit: Hi. I am just wondering if you could give me a URL to the JTWC page where everyone is getting 120kt from. I can only see 95kt, gusting to 115kt on both JTWC's advisories on the system that are currently active. Thanks. ChocolateTrain (talk) 20:52, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ChocolateTrain: They just revised it down to 115 kt, but here's the ATCF link. ~ Cyclonebiskit (chat) 21:22, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ella image[edit]

Just pinging @ChocolateTrain: too. Can someone edit the Ella image and crop it? Worldview does not work for Ella because it is located in the Int'l Dateline, therefore it spans like two days. Thank you. Typhoon2013 (talk) 21:42, 14 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Typhoon2013: Done. I cropped it and improved the colour a bit; however, the resolution of the image is not great. To be honest, I reckon the image that was there originally was better due to its resolution (the cyclone also seems slightly weaker in the current image, even though it was taken only five minutes prior). New format for "Storm names"?[edit]

Sorry @Jasper Deng: for doing another thread here, but I have a thought just now. Because of this situation right now about the "Storm names" section, I am thinking to do the same format for the PTS seasons (2016 and before). Only problem with this format is that the table would be so small. What do you think? I should've thought about this before replying JR. Typhoon2013 (talk) 07:08, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
