[edit]

It would appear that the following figures are disputed:

  • Total votes cast in round one (3,947,575)
  • Registered voters in round one (7,014,723)
  • Number of invalid/blank votes in round two (66,036)
  • Total votes cast in round two (3,540,964)
  • Registered voters in round two (7,020,119)

The figures are all on or derived from the CEC website by simple calculation (which is not WP:OR before someone claims this):

  • Total votes cast in round one is simply the number of votes for each candidate + none of the above + invalid/blank votes. This totals 3,947,575, not 3,943,004, which is 4,571 too few.
  • Registered voters in round one: From the CEC website: Number of voters according to voter lists on delivery (6,839,380) + Number of voters registered on election day (175,343) = 7,014,723. It is not clear where the figure of 6,860,588 comes from
  • Number of invalid/blank votes in round two: Directly from the CEC website (figure 6)
  • Total votes cast in round two is simply the number of votes for each candidate + none of the above + invalid/blank votes (2,063,032 + 1,256,485 + 155,411 + 66,036). This totals 3,540,964, not 3,540,829, which is 135 too few.
  • Registered voters in round two: From the CEC website: Number of voters according to voter lists on delivery (6,848,311) + Number of voters registered on election day (171,808) = 7,020,119. The figure of 6,859,390 appears to be part of the figure for round one registered voters, but is definitely not the round two figure.

Hope this clears it all up. Cheers, Number 57 21:51, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
