Cleanup title[edit]

I think this should be renamed to something more in line with other similar articles, such as 2014 Aegean Sea earthquake, so I have included a template at the top prior to discussion here. Skycycle (talk) 07:06, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Skycycle, there has been one more deadly earthquake in Aegean in 2017 [1], so maybe the title should change to 2017 south Aegean Sea earthquake. --C messier (talk) 15:04, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Aftershocks[edit]

With a 6.7 quake it is expected to have at least a few strong 5.0+ aftershocks, so nothing 'crazy' here. Once more detailed information is available and some time passes, a list of major aftershocks will be added to the box, or perhaps the article itself. The number of low magnitude aftershocks doesn't seem unusual. I agree with Skycycle that we can document them in time - there's no rush, unless there is an aftershock large enough to cause further damage. Mikenorton (talk) 12:05, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Title revisited[edit]

Looking through the scientific publications for this event, it seems that 2017 Bodrum–Kos earthquake is the common name, at least amongst seismologists. Mikenorton (talk) 20:16, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
