This now seems to be an annual event. I suggest moving to MLB Little League Classic and tweaking the lead and infobox. Yoninah (talk) 12:48, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. I just noticed that separate pages have been posted for 2017, 2018, and 2019. If this is acceptable, should we be doing the same with Players Weekend? Yoninah (talk) 12:49, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

More facts/clarification

[edit]

If I understand correctly, parents and kids involved in Little League, or the LL World Series were to be the audience, along with the townspeople who won the lottery that IS described in the article. However, this isn't stated anywhere in the article. Most people who are very familiar with baseball could probably guess that this the case, but all readers might not since the article doesn't say so.

It also might be helpful to expressly state that this game replaced one that "had been scheduled at PNC Park in Pittsburgh (seating capacity 38,747)" before the text on the compensation given to ticket holders. It is stated in the article that the capacity at the stadium where the game was played was around 3K. Again, people familiar with baseball may be understand the disparity in seating capacity of the two venues, but others might not, so why not make it explicit how significant this action was for the MLB.

I assume that MLB as a whole paid these costs rather than having the Pirates pay for it. All of it? Do we know how many seats were added to BB&T with the MLB grant?

Do we know how the attendees were chosen? Was everyone who had tickets to any of the LLWS (plus players & coaches) invited to this game or were tickets available for purchase by them or was the game only for LLWS players & coaches?

Finally, I got to this article from the 2018 MLB Little League Classic article because I had a lot of questions after reading that article. This 2017 article answered most of those [the remaining Qs would be answered if the article is modified as I suggested]. However, I think it would be helpful to either have more info in the 2018 article or make it clearer that the reader should go to the 2017 article, perhaps by specifying that these were the 1st & 2nd such events.

Was there also a lottery in 2018 of tickets for residents of Lycoming county?

Just some thoughts from someone who is a casual fan of MLB. Ileanadu (talk) 18:08, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
