Lunar eclipse of August 7, 2017[edit]

Senegal will be seeing a partial lunar eclipse tonight right after sunset when it is in progress, the eclipse will be in progress. The southeastern part will be seeing the umbral shadow as seen on the southeast of the Nearside of the Moon up to around 90.1 E in the Farside. The remaining portion will only see a penumbral shadow and more than a hour after sunset, the lunar eclipse ends.

As I checked through Google Earth, the weather conditions in Senegal will be predominantly clear but most of Dakar and the west are clouding over with the low pressure front coming and many areas will receive rain, one small part will receive clear skies. Parts of Senegal will not have the lunar eclipse mainly visible.

On the article, I will put the full weather conditions during the partial lunar eclipse in one section, there I already put it but it will be changed. Terriffic Dunker Guy (talk) 16:06, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In that area clouds move to the west, not the East as in the north. There was rain earlier in western Senegal, the partial lunar eclipse at its later stages will be seen in Senegal right after sunset. The clouds are pushing towards Cape Verde. Weather report as of before 20:00, clear in Senegal, to the southwest are cloudy and rainy. The last parts of the partial lunar eclipse remains visible Terriffic Dunker Guy (talk) 19:59, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

August 21, 2017 solar eclipse[edit]

Today is the day that the solar eclipse will be seen in Senegal. As it will be seen as total southwest of Cape Verde. It will be visibly as partial in Senegal but not the southeastern part. The eclipse ends at sunset, seen at under 50% obscuration. Clouds and rain dominate the western part, but one part of Senegal, the western and the middle part is clear. The eclipse is about to begin in Senegal. It is about to start and finishes at sunset. Terriffic Dunker Guy (talk) 18:36, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The eclipse I think is just begun in Senegal. Not seen in that country is the southeasternmost portion of that nation. It will finished at around 19:00 and 19:05. Weather now now clear in Western and the middle part of Senegal. Terriffic Dunker Guy (talk) 18:46, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The eclipse is now occurring in Senegal, it will finish at sunset at around 19:20. Forecast is clear in many parts of Senegal and it is visible. Around Dakar, clouds are in the west and the eclipse is not visible. Terriffic Dunker Guy (talk) 19:16, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

At around 19:20 UTC which is also Senegal's (and the Gambia's) time zone (rarely as Senegambia's), the solar eclipse finished at sunset and was visibly as partial. Terriffic Dunker Guy (talk) 20:00, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
