New template

[edit]

Recently, all basketball leagues and tournaments have switched to the Sports table module having a uniform look in all of basketball, save for American leagues such as the NBA. Now, NBA standings are quite different from the others, but the conference standings are simplified, at least on Wikipedia. Here's how it'll look for the 2017-18 NBA Eastern conference:

Pos Team W L PCT GB Qualification
1 z – Toronto Raptors 59 23 .720 2018 NBA Playoffs
2 x – Boston Celtics 55 27 .671 4
3 x – Philadelphia 76ers 52 30 .634 7
4 y – Cleveland Cavaliers 50 32 .610 9
5 x – Indiana Pacers 48 34 .585 11
6 y – Miami Heat 44 38 .537 15
7 x – Milwaukee Bucks 44 38 .537 15
8 x – Washington Wizards 43 39 .524 16
9 Detroit Pistons 39 43 .476 20
10 Charlotte Hornets 36 46 .439 23
11 New York Knicks 29 53 .354 30
12 Brooklyn Nets 28 54 .341 31
13 Chicago Bulls 27 55 .329 32

International preseason games

[edit]

Why do games in Canada, and specifically Raptors games in Canada, count as "international" to be listed in this section with games in China? --2600:1700:FDF1:1FC0:4CA5:B9C:D70B:BBA6 (talk) 19:12, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Standings

[edit]

Unless I missed it, there are no footnotes in the standings explaining why the Clippers finished ahead of the Spurs and so forth. In my opinion, this is an important enough point to merit inclusion in the presentation, and not leave it to the reader to hunt around in the individual team pages to see who has won the head-to-head series. I don't mind reading contrary opinions as long as it is not "we've always done it this way" ))). I will not make any arbitrary changes. Hope to hear your opinions.MicroManagingAH (talk) 21:08, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
