Leaders infobox

[edit]

Do these protests have some specific figures leading them? I suggest that someone who is up to date on this matter add the leaders in the infobox.Elserbio00 (talk) 21:49, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There is much more. Gotta back to work and grab dinner. Its been going on all week. Just a few days ago this cop car was stationed just below me blaring in his bullhorn every 15 minutes or so. Everyday I've been hearing the noises and sirens.2A02:2A57:173D:0:3C22:E327:9689:F0F2 (talk) 17:01, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Causes

[edit]

Why is governemnt misshandling of covid pandemic part of the causes? The rest of the article doesn't indicate this im any way 2A02:3038:10:7E9F:1:2:5FCA:8580 (talk) 10:28, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

[edit]
The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
To not merge, on the grounds that pages are sufficiently developed (or growing) in a way that warrants separate coverage; acceptance that the topics are linked, but that a merge would be impractical and unhelpful for readers; causes of protests may differ between years. Klbrain (talk) 12:52, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2020–2021 Armenian protests, 2022 Armenian protests and 2023 Armenian protests are all about the same thing: protests against Pashinyan for giving up Nagorno-Karabakh. Particularly the 2022 and 2023 articles are short and uneventful. I propose a merge into one single article, it could be titled 2020–2023 Armenian protests, Protests in Armenia against Nikol Pashinyan, Protests in Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh or some other better variation. This article is the longest so it could be the target of the other two's info. Super Dromaeosaurus (talk) 15:47, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong oppose- not only will it be a logistical nightmare to differentiate almost four years worth of protests, the proposed merge will likely lead to an overly long and clunky article (WP:NOTMERGE) which would not serve as an improvement to the overall readability or comprehension of the events (especially when discussing loaded topics like war, coups, elections, civil unrest, ceasefire agreements, strikes, and so on). "Protests against Pashinyan" is a rudimentary analysis of these evets. To generalize them all together would be a mistake and possibly give the reader false impressions, or at the very least, confuse them. Further, the protests have been organized by different actors, individuals, and political parties; with some participating in all, and others in one or two- with their goals not all being the same. Lumping them all together in one overarching article seems convoluted to me. Archives908 (talk) 02:51, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - While I agree with nom that they are connected with Pashinyan and Nagorno-Karabakh and that the causes/goals are all related to one another, I also agree with above that the resulting merged article would become hard to understand for readers, with the yearlong break between these events making them pretty distinct (especially the 2023 protests). Yeoutie (talk) 11:15, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose - It would be a bad idea to merge these because they all have different start causes and they have all lasted for various amounts of time and their only common goal was to get Prime Minister Pashiyin to Resign. If we were to go with the 2020-2023 Armenian protests, how does it explain the nearly 30-40 months without any substantial protests? Kingllama100 (talk) 00:58, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose - as they have different causes and are not on the same scale. The 2020-2021 protests were during COVID-19, but I would be open to merging just the 2022 & 2023 protests which were about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. JohnAdams1800 (talk) 22:04, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
