Guidelines?[edit]

Are there any criteria on what/how to include something in the list ? (Undid revision 952758783 by FLY.XYZ (talk) Artist does not have a Wiki article.) => Shouldn't that make it an incentive to create the page to anyone visiting this page that could ? Instead of a criteria not to include ? (I tried translating the page but I apparently am not allowed to) Also even if style is always debatable, are there criteria for inclusion, for instance in what sense is Danzig's last album considered a Heavy Metal release ? hi!
i don't think, it is reasonable to list all things of people that might have any relations to metal.
for example ulver made some metal stuff a long time ago, but then switched to some totally other genre.
another example is Anneke van Giersbergen. she was the singer of The Gathering which was a progressive rockband that also did some doom metal in the beginning. but Anneke's solo stuff has nothing to do with metal. she does singer songwriter stuff where you won't find any metal elements.
imho the page 2020 in heavy metal music is a great feature for the reader. but if gets watered down with non-metal stuff, the list gets unclear and less useful.
so i agree that there should be some kind of guidelines. and those guidelines should be stricter than "list every album of every guy that made metal in at least one single point of their life." -- seth (talk) 20:42, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@user:TheSickBehemoth: you reverted my deletion. don't you agree that there should be a more or less clear guideline that excludes non-metal albums from being listed here, even, if one of the band members did some metal as a member of another band? -- seth (talk) 14:45, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Including genres?[edit]

This article would be a lot more useful to people if each release had some sort of genre description. As in, a third column on the table with some phrase to describe the general sound of the album.

I suppose a problem can be that an album's genre is sometimes hard to define, which is why I wanted to bring the idea up for discussion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pacifisticuffs (talkcontribs) 13:37, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
