Closed national forests[edit]

We should include somewhere that all national forests where closed at midnight September 1 due to strained resources and high fire danger.

South Fire[edit]

I assume that "17 structures destroyed" by the South Fire fits the definition of "produced significant structural damage or casualties"? Otherwise it doesn't meet the size limit. Renerpho (talk) 15:18, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

October 2021 California Atmospheric River[edit]

Due to the strength of the low pressure system, the all-time record daily rainfall set in Sacramento, and many other records that this most recent storm brought, I think we should really consider adding into this page the October 2021 California AR. During this storm, several high-profile wildfires like the Dixie, McFarland, and Monument were declared 100% contained. In addition, October and November is the peak offshore wind season for the state, so this storm seriously interrupted the fire potential this autumn had.
