Term "minority rights" looks wrong for DENK

[edit]

They dont care about jewish interests, or polish workers or gay rights. They are more or less the party of Erdogan, Islamists and Turks on dutch group. Using the term "minority rights" makes them look way too good on this article and is a factual error.

Denk

[edit]

Turkish interests it not anymore their main ideology since main turkish leaders leaving the party. The new leader Farid Azarkan will focus on Moroccan interests [1] Shadow4dark (talk) 20:17, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Henk Krol list is not in Dutch Parliament

[edit]

It is just a minor thing, but MP's can no longer create new fracties (I am not aware of the correct translation in English) in lower house of parliament. Instead they are now simply groepen (groups). Therefor I do not believe Lijst Henk Krol qualifies as being represented in the Parties Table. Dajasj (talk) 21:28, 20 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • That's an interesting point. According to the House's website the party is indeed not represented, even though the person is. I will place him in the other table. It is now done inconsistently, as Splinter is in the table for new parties. - Tristan Surtel (talk) 10:37, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion of The Base / De Basis political party

[edit]

I've noticed The Base (political party) is not included anywhere on this page. However, its Wikipedia page states it intends to take part in this election. It seems it should be included somewhere on the page. Helper201 (talk) 04:49, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It might have intended to do so, but it is not registered. So it can not take part anymore. There are more than 40 other parties that have signalled this intention but did not register or failed to register. I do not believe these should be included on this page. Government vs cabinet formation

[edit]

Hello @Dauwenkust: you changed cabinet formation back to government formation. Which I understand given previous pages and the fact that there is the page Government formation. However, now it is inconsistent with the page Dutch cabinet formation, which uses cabinet formation. But to be fair, the Dutch government is also inconsistent in their translation (see here and here). However, given that there is a small distinction between cabinet and government in Dutch (a cabinet contains ministers and state secretaries, both of which are chosen during the formation. But the government only includes ministers and the monarch, the latter not being chosen by the formation) and the English Wikipedia page is also called Dutch cabinet formation, I would prefer to use cabinet formation consistently. What do you think? Dajasj (talk) 06:19, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Dajasj: thanks for your comments! I will admit as well I struggled with this edit a bit as well for both the inconsistencies you have mentioned and the fact that my dutch is pretty terrible, and I am working from an Australian English perspective, which I know is a very small branch of English too! In the end I went ahead because the last three Dutch election articles went with the header title "Government Formation" followed by a link to "Cabinet formation" so that inconsistency seemed to have history and also because (as per Wikipedia's own article on government formation: "Government formation is the process in a parliamentary system of selecting a prime minister and cabinet members.") I felt that term was more in line with what would be broadly understood by English speakers in other parliamentary democracies. It is my personal opinion that he term Government Formation would be more easily understood as the process taking place, but if you feel strongly otherwise, or other editors disagree with my interpretation I am happy to revert :) What ever we decide we should probably also apply to previous Dutch election pages.
