Prose description of the season?

[edit]

Should there be a prose description of how the season went? (e.g. "In Week 1 the heavy favorite xyz were upset by the abc when they lost 00:00" and so on and so forth). Or should we only mention particularly noteworthy incidents like the Week 2 Stuttgart QB racial insult incident (which led to his firing from his team and being banned for the season by the league) Hobbitschuster (talk) 21:17, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't seem consistent with other leagues, you can change the result table and add a link to a game summery like they do in other pro leagues. --StanleyKey (talk) 01:27, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should discuss the kicking game

[edit]

The season being in the books, we can confidently say that the kicking game was... Noteworthy... I think there was at least one team that didn't make a single successful Field Goal attempt and the number of botched extra points is off the charts. The champion didn't make a single attempt at a Field Goal or kicked PAT in the final. Can you imagine any gridiron league being won by a team without a kicking game? And there were also roster moves to try and address this, like Giorgio Tavecchio... Hobbitschuster (talk) 18:04, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ELF All-Star

[edit]

The official United States men's national American football team is sanctioned by USA Football, not the United States Federation of American Football. The team that played in the game was an "all star" team, not the official US national team. --StanleyKey (talk) 00:28, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The team also had many people who aren't US citizens on its roster, including most linemen... Hobbitschuster (talk) 12:38, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Payment

[edit]

I think it should be made clear, that the ELF is overwhelmingly an amateur league and that most players did not get paid (any significant amounts) for the 2021 season. Hobbitschuster (talk) 21:50, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As long as you have article(s) supporting this claim, we should change the description to "semi-pro" instead of "professional". --StanleyKey (talk) 02:18, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
"most players did not get paid" sounds like they should have been but teams just didn't do it and broke contract. THink that should be reworded. -Koppapa (talk) 06:59, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
most players did not have a contract that established a right to payment. It's the same in all European leagues of American football. Hobbitschuster (talk) 11:21, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You're probably right, but you still need to support the claims with citation(s)... --StanleyKey (talk) 22:22, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
