College GameDay

[edit]

The guidance on {{CFB schedule entry}} doesn't really address College GameDay. I've asked for input on the template's talk page. And yes, WP:OTHERSTUFF, but given that including "College GameDay" in the name field is the de facto standard for including the information, what policy-based objections exist to including it here? —C.Fred (talk) 22:16, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! This individual continues removing "College GameDay" from the schedule despite this conversation. Can you do something about this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.184.162.181 (talk) 23:01, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@C.Fred: Please review this when you get a chance. ^^

@208.184.162.181: There is nothing to be done. I have not violated any policies.--Rockchalk717 01:19, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The intended use for the parameter is in the name of the parameter itself, plain and simple and it's most simple form, "College Gameday" is the name a television show, nothing more, nothing less, it is not the name of a game. Game names are rivalry games, bowl games, etc. Leave it out. Inclusion in other articles doesn't necessarily mean it's a standard per WP:OTHERSTUFF. College football season articles are frequently edited by IPs and the overwhelming majority of the time, the IPs are adding College Gameday. Seek a consensus at WT:CFB and stop adding it.--Rockchalk717 01:27, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Since this affects the whole project, I've solicited broader input at WT:CFB#College GameDay in team season schedule sections. —C.Fred (talk) 03:32, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
