Nadal and calendar-year Grand Slam[edit]

Surely this is more a point for the US Open page if he wins Wimbledon? The current wording is suggesting he's maybe getting the calendar-year slam if he wins this tournament and then another... it's like saying it on the French Open page if someone just won the Australian Open... it's only 2 out of 4 so far Nickb12312 (talk) 12:58, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

😂 The (calendar) Grand Slam is the ultimate achievement in tennis and the point is that 54 / 54 times a man was quarter-way to Grand Slam, but only 6 / 54 times halfway to Grand Slam. Inavolbe (talk) 13:37, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Way to much fan cruft detail[edit]

Obviously the two finalists will have more detail, but Nadal and his double surface slam is overly detailed stuff that didn't happen. The 4th British man in the Open Era.... do we start talking about the number of Chilean guys who have reached the quarterfinals? And really.... two left handed guys in the semis that weren't even played! This is really flimsy filler material for an encyclopedia. Fyunck(click) (talk) 08:55, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It not just a question of size. We know Serena Williams show size but that is too detailed to put in an encyclopedia. I wouldn't even mention the names of other players Djokovic is trying to tie. That's what the external link is for. The fact we have left players playing each other... oh wait they didn't play each other. Or that Warwinka is once again trying to complete a career Grand Slam... or that a double surface slam that very few readers would know about didn't happen.
