Stats erased & Russia expelled[edit]

Perhaps we should update the article, now that the IIHF has scrapped the stats & will re-play the entire tournament in August, with Russia expelled. GoodDay (talk) 03:13, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I agree, the IIHF has determined that the original games don't count. The article should not include any results, statistics, etc. from the aborted tournament. 162 etc. (talk) 17:55, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think removing them totally should happen; the games happened, after all. But noting that they were played but no longer counted should be made clear. Kaiser matias (talk) 00:47, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Giving this a bump, now that the tournament is only days away. The current layout with the "first attempt" and actual tournament results both listed in the article makes for a confusing read. Given that the IIHF has stated that the results from the December games won't count, there's no reason to include all that info in this article. Another option would be to split off the December games to their own article - but again, I'm not convinced of their notability. 162 etc. (talk) 20:48, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Deletion was the right move. The IIHF has considered those December 2021 games, as never having happened. GoodDay (talk) 21:23, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure what the time frame for games to cease being notable is, deletion is the wrong choice. Collapsed, as I noticed someone has done, is the right choice. The IIHF continues to maintain the site for the December tournament, and has provided a new link to it amongst the 2022 tournament list. Additionally, we have no idea what they will do with those stats as it pertains to individual player records, or team records. They seemingly take a new approach on how to handle player stats from disqualified teams each time it happens, so how are we predicting what will happen with stats for an unprecedented situation? The IIHF are maintaining these stats so far, we should too.18abruce (talk) 02:43, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I like what we have now: collapsed but available. While they may not count anymore, the games did happen, and we should note that here. Acting like they never did is not the right move. Kaiser matias (talk) 13:27, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
