Mexico v Qatar match fixing[edit]

First, I have no opinion as to whether there was match fixing in this match. I haven't watched it, and I have no plan or intention to do so. I noticed the match fixing note appended to the score in the article, and I search for evidence that this occurred. Finding none, I added a Citation Needed note, since I follow WP:AGF, but this is WP:OR, if the editor deduced it from watching the match. Once I realized that my edit wrecked the main 2023 Gold Cup article, it took a bit of effort, but I figured out how to get the Citation Needed note into the bixscore without wrecking the transclusion in the main article.

Since I solved that problem, there has been an WP:EDITWAR with some users deleting my edit and another IP user restoring it. One user who deleted my edit noted that the match fixing note had been added by a disgruntled Mexico fan. Perhaps it is best if we discuss this matter here and reach a consensus as to whether the match fixing note with the citation needed tag should or should not be in the article. Ok, that's enough: the "user" who noticed that I'm a sore loser Mexican fan is this idiotic troll IP, who simply did a childish attempt to troll me. Yawn: am not Mexican, not a football hoolingan, and I'm not crying or else (seriously? ROTFL) for a football match (please...). So the troll was completely wrong. Btw, thanking Taxman for the interest, I say to all editors here: don't revert me as a vandal, because I have no free time to wast in boring reverts. The match fixing is blatant, just search for it, or wait what will happen in next hours. G'bye, I quit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.244.203.43 (talk) 17:41, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's morning in America, and a Google search for "Mexico Qatar match fixing Gold Cup" yields nothing. With an entire day having passed since the match ended, if there was going to be a match-fixing investigation, there probably would have been a media report by now. I have no doubts about the good faith of the editor who has added the match-fixing note several times, but at the point, it is difficult to see this as anything other than original research, and Wikipedia is not a forum for original thought. At best, the note is premature; if reports of match fixing surface from reliable sources, the note should be added. However, at this time, I don't think it is approprate for the match-fixing note to appear in the article. Taxman1913 (talk) 12:26, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
