Hi. I plan to make a more detailed reply to this deletion request later, but could you elaborate on the ‘People notable for one event’ part? I’d like to improve the article as much as possible, but I’m not sure what you mean by this.

I don’t understand how it applies to this article as this is not an article about a person, and the only person mentioned in the article is related to the subject matter in a significant way.

Efforts were also made to minimise mentions of the suspect to prevent any WP:BLPCRIME issues, so I’m not sure what more can be done if that is the problem you’re referring to. Macxcxz (talk) 20:41, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Arguement for claims of article violating Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#NEWS

1. Event is significant as it was noted in a June 2024 FBI report as having the fourth highest casualty count of all active shooting events in 2023, tied with the 2023 Allen, Texas mall shooting (fifteen in each case, though there were fatalities in the Allen shooting.) This makes it notable and worthy of Wikipedia inclusion as an instance of a large-scale mass shooting event and may be compared to articles of a similar subject matter, such as the 2022 New York City Subway attack, 2019 Dallas courthouse shooting and the Little Rock nightclub shooting. In each of those aforementioned instances, there were no fatalities (besides the shooter, for one of them), but are nonetheless considered as noteworthy events, much like I believe this one should be on account of its high casualty count. 2. Deletion request lacks details on how exactly this article suffers from "issues". Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#NEWS is a broad guideline, and merely stating that the article "appears to suffer from issues" related to it is not useful. It is my understanding that efforts should be made to provide editors a way to improve their articles when making deletion requests like this. This also makes writing this argument more difficult as I am not entirely sure what I am supposed to be defending. All in all, I believe this article is note-worthy and efforts were made to avoid mentioning the suspect's name unnecessarily. Efforts were also made to stylise this article like other articles on mass shooting. If the article appears to read like a news report, this was unintentional, and I would appreciate advice on how to remedy this.

For these reasons, until further conference is made, I will be removing the deletion request due to lack of explanation or evidence for the claims made in the nomination. Macxcxz (talk) 21:33, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
