Confused

[edit]

Are we supposed to use the |homeX and |homeright params in the template {{NHLPLayoffs}} on this page. It's used inconsistently throughout. Noticed an editor removed them and said they were unnecessary. They only removed them from a few sections but didn't do it for the entire page. Should they all be removed? It does impact the layout of each series table. Philipnelson99 (talk) 02:42, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Home is an override parameter when the 2-2-1-1-1 series default is not applicable for a specific game. In a normal 2-3-2 series home is only required for games five and six as all of the other games will be normal without any need for home. With homeright=yes team1 will list as the host for games 1, 2, 5 and 7, team2 will list as the host for games 3, 4 and 6. If team1 hosts games 1, 4 and 5 and team2 hosts games 2, 3 and 6 then only games 2 and 4 need home.
You can remove homeright if you want but I wouldn't recommend doing that as that parameter was added to make using the template easier and you would have an even bigger mess to deal with if it was removed. Deadman137 (talk) 00:38, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
