  • Article is newly created (converted from redirect) and long enough. QPQ has been done. The six sources in the article are reliable (ESPN) or from official press releases. But there are a couple of copyvio concerns, especially phrases like "selected by MLS commissioner Don Garber", "was created on May 13", "appeared in at least 50 percent" which can be further reworded. Personally I find the ALT1 hook more interesting, especially on its focus on the bolded article.--ZKang123 (talk) 02:33, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ALT1a is dependent upon knowing who or what Liga MX is. ALT2 is borderline, but I'd consider lopping off the last four words.--Launchballer 12:30, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll approve this.--Launchballer 07:25, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Squad formatting

[edit]

@SounderBruce: wanted to ping you on my changing the format back to be in line with the other pages. My main concern is that changing to this format will make this article inconsistent with other articles, and I am not sure the addition of how they were chosen (vote/coach/commissioner) or how frequently they have appeared in an ASG necessitates the larger table. I also think it will make the article longer than necessary, especially after the Liga MX squad is added to the page, and I think we'd have to get the other pages in line with a new format. Not sure what your thoughts are. Jay eyem (talk) 18:47, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The old format was not designed with all-star formats in mind, and we should be adapting the other articles to fit with a better table. Having the clubs in a dedicated, sortable column and information on pick type is useful to readers, especially those accustomed to other American all-star games. Honestly I can't really speak to other all-star games in other sports since I only passively follow the Big Four leagues. I took a look at some of their pages and they definitely all have that list format. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, I'll go ahead and revert it back for now.
