I'll be reviewing this article. Here are some comments:

Prize money
  • The season already ended, so note b should be reworded. "during that season's Triple Crown events would have been rewarded" or anything along those lines.
First round
  • Zhang closed to 4‍–‍2 - Wouldn't it make more sense to write the scores from the perspective of the player ("closed to 2‍–‍4")? That's the way it was done in the image captions as well.
  • In consecutive paragraphs, I see "eighth and ninth" and "8th". What's the logic behind this?
  • 9 years - This should be spelled out in words.
Quarter-finals
  • in the 4th frame and took the fifth frame - Inconsistent again.
  • Why is Allen's quote on the maximum at the end of that para? I reckon that info should be stated immediately after the information about the overseas players making maximums.
Semi-finals
  • Link BBC.
Final
  • Maybe, in note c, better to say that "Eurosport lists"?
  • eighth Masters title and 23rd Triple Crown title - This wording can be found three times throughout the article. I'm not really sure if this applies: "Comparable values nearby one another should be all spelled out or all in figures, even if one of the numbers would normally be written differently".
  • He already held the record as the youngest winner at the Masters - I think it's better to say O'Sullivan instead of "he" there.
  • O'Sullivan announced that would take two months away from the sport - I think a "he" is missing.
Tournament draw
  • The table for the final should use {{nbnd}} as well instead of {{ndash}}.
Controversies
  • first round match and quarter final match both need hyphens.
  • O'Sullivan, who is involved in a disciplinary dispute with the sport's governing body, the WPBSA, is being reviewed by the World Snooker Tour for the outburst - Does this still hold true? Has anything changed since then?
Century breaks
  • the first by Ding Junhui in the opening round, and secondly by Mark Allen in the quarter-finals - I find that "secondly" a bit weird. Maybe just "the second"?
Sources
  • Do either 79 or 87 really source those remarks made by O'Sullivan? I can't really find the quote there. I think this is the correct link for the BBC.
  • surpassing Bingham, who won the 2020 event aged 43 years and 243 days - Which one is the reference for this stat?
  • In the last para of the final, the sources state that Davis, Hendry and Williams won the Triple Crown events in the same season, but they don't support when they did it. I think it would be good to find a source for that.
Images
  • "(pictured)" would actually not be necessary, given that it is pretty obvious. None of the images were taken during the event, so it would be nice to add the year: "(pictured in 2014)".
  • I guess it's not amongst the criteria for good articles, but alternative text could be provided for images.
  • Aged 48 years and 40 days, he became the oldest Masters winner as well as the youngest - That wording would suggest that he became both things at the same time. I suggest an alternative wording.

That's all I got. Thanks in advance for your responses, Lee Vilenski and AmethystZhou. Kind regards. Alavense (talk) 10:24, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
