The Korean names

[edit]

@Bs1jac: Would it be possible to at least notify ESPNcricinfo about the new Korean players' name problems (regardless of whether they fix them later or not)? Putting surnames and given names in whatever order is one thing, but simply omitting a part of a whole word is totally wrong মাশ্‌ফী※Mashfi (ETP) 14:22, 14 October 2024 (UTC), edited 09:37, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

They are very inconsistent with Korean/Chinese names. They do tend to follow passports (or so they say); first name/last name is not so important as various media outlets do it the 'wrong way round' (am aware they should be 'surname' first). The problem is where part of a name is written as two words; sometimes they write it in full (e.g., 'Jiyeon' Park), sometimes as two words ('Su Jin' Kim) and sometimes they miss the middle part completely, or include it as a 'middle name' (e.g., Kim Rang). I will let them know by pointing them to the squad announcement, but it is a losing battle. Bs1jac (talk) 15:42, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
