Oppose, as with any RM on the sole basis of "at this point", "at the moment", or any such reason based on WP:RECENTISM. Moving articles back and forth based on the most recent pageviews, traffic, or news spikes will result in extremely unstable article titles. In this particular case, just stick to the current status quo, normal disambig conventions of college football bowl game articles that do not favor one PTOPIC game or another. Otherwise, it would invariably get reverted back later this year, not to mention the link cleanup. Zzyzx11 (talk) 10:45, 10 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose the disambiguation is self-evidently there because another Cotton Bowl Classic is scheduled to be played on December 31, 2025. There is clear benefit to not unwinding all of the (January) dabs when, while none of us can guarantee the future, it is very reasonably expected that they will persist. Oppose feels very short-sighted. Of course this is the primary topic at this moment, because it's basically the same moment as this game is happening.
