Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.

If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)

I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I may use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.

Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs)

Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.

Lede[edit]

  • HSBC Tower in infobox, is that because it's the official decloration? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:42, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • The current owner markets the building as 452 Fifth Avenue so I have fixed it. Epicgenius (talk) 04:04, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • 452 Fifth Avenue faces... - can we say "The building" to avoid starting with a number? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:42, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also on next para. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:42, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Doesn't facade have an accent? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:42, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • I think I mentioned this earlier, but if I recall correctly, it can go either way. Just plain "facade" without the accent doesn't show up as an error for me. Epicgenius (talk) 04:04, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • and sold to HSBC. - probably need to explain they are a bank. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:42, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

General[edit]

  • Same as lede in terms of starting sentences with a number. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:47, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • 452 Fifth Avenue, formerly known as the Republic National Bank Building,[5] is composed of four distinct sections.[14] The ten-story Knox Building,[16][b] at the southwest corner of 40th Street and Fifth Avenue, was designed by John H. Duncan in the Beaux-Arts style.[5][16][18] The newer HSBC Tower (originally the Republic National Bank Tower), - I'm a bit confused. Are these two seperate buildings? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:47, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • The current skyscraper at 452 Fifth Avenue was known as the Republic National Bank Building and is composed of four buildings. The oldest one is the Knox Building, which itself was once a separate building but now is part of the skyscraper. The next one is the HSBC Tower, originally the Republic National Bank Tower, which is an addition to the Knox Building; it's also part of the skyscraper. There is also the Kress Building and a fourth (as yet unnamed) structure on 39th Street, which predate the tower addition but were substantially rebuilt when the skyscraper was built. Epicgenius (talk) 04:04, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Could we get some alt text? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:47, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    •  Done
  • ULURP - this acronym is only used once more in the body, we could probably re-write to avoid this. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:47, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • 40th Street entrance - Entrance to the building from 40th street. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:47, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • AIA Guide to New York City - do we have an author? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:47, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rest is fantastic. Great work. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:47, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
