Suggestions[edit]

  • If the renaming of the 295th Rifle Division as the 49th is to remain part of this article, rather than ultimately becoming part of a new article on the 295th, WP:MILMOS#UNITNAME would seem to call for the naming of the article as the 49th Motor Rifle Division (or discussion for not following the rule on the talk page).
  • I doubt many non military historian users of an encyclopedia are familiar with operation names, so a short explanation would be helpful, as Operation Bagration, the Soviet offensive to clear German forces from (Belarus or the Belorussian SSSR).
  • Some Russian terms should be translated, as People's Volunteer Militia, rather than the transliteration, Narodnoe Opolcheniye
  • Kombrig does not seem to have an direct equivalent in the military of English speakers. Perhaps Brigade Commander, with a link to Kombrig would be better.
  • If the composition of the first two formations is given, the absence of that for the last formation makes this incomplete. I also think these lists would benefit if placed in columns.
  • A number of references lack page numbers. --Lineagegeek (talk) 16:58, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also, the History section is quite long and might benefit by subsections, perhaps for each formation? --Lineagegeek (talk) 17:01, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • The article is about formations with the title 49th Rifle Division; the 49th MRD will be covered at the 295th MRD article.
    • There isn't any information on the composition of the 49th RD's third formation, so a composition could not be included. Kges1901 (talk) 11:05, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
