The date is not good[edit]

The asteroid is not discovery the September 8, 1988, but the September 25 1987: see the fish of MPC : http://minorplanetcenter.net/db_search/show_object?object_id=5171 .The date of September 8, 1988 not coher white the numero 1987 SQ₃ :the numero will said : 2^eme ½ of september 1987.--Jean-François Clet (talk) 20:24, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The above statement is correct. The official discovery was made on 25 September 1987 (MPC), not on 8 September 1988 as shown in the JPL SBDB (JPL). The MPC originally named the wrong asteroid which was discovered on that date and the JPL SBDB has never been updated with the correction.
