Smell[edit]

What is the best approach to addressing the smell in the station? The walkway from the downtown 6 to the E is the consensus pick for foulest smelling in the NYC subway system. Rusty 00:21, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whose consensus? Unless it can be referenced, we shouldn't address it at all. Larry V (talk | contribs) 02:51, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Naming[edit]

The problem here is that it's Lexington Av-53 St on the IND[1] and 51 Street on the IRT.[2] Again, if it's only one passageway, maybe it should be split. --NE2 20:11, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We can't really reconcile this with a verified name. I have never seen the two stations referred to in one breath. Ever. It's "Lexington Avenue" (or "Lex–53") and "51st Street"—always separate. Larry V (talk | e-mail) 20:30, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think exit signs from the IRT say 51st Street and Lexington Avenue. I'll look into it. --Imdanumber1 (talk contribs) 22:34, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well of course it would. The IRT station is named 51st Street. Pacific Coast Highway {talkcontribs} 00:00, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The IRT exit signs probably say "51 STREET STATION — IRT LEXINGTON AVENUE LINE" or something like that. This wouldn't count for anything, because the reference to "Lexington Avenue" is for the line, not the station. Larry V (talk | e-mail) 00:16, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
