Long distance?

[edit]

Bit of a strange one, but this article contradicts wikipedia's own article on long distance running, which defines the term explicitly as running distances of at least 8k. Since I am not sure how to proceed, I will leave a similar comment on the talk page there. Triangl (talk) 16:13, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

IAAF only recently added 5k road runs, so the other page should be updated.

5k vs 5K

[edit]

'k' seems more consistent with the SI prefixes, and is used on the image caption for this page, yet it seems mainly to use 'K'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.8.186.36 (talk) 15:30, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Record progressions should go from oldest to newest

[edit]

Lists of record progressions typically, and reasonably, go from oldest to newest. EG, see 10,000_metres_world_record_progression . In this article they are reversed and go from newest to oldest. Also, I don't know if it matters, but the table format is different here. WikiAlto (talk) 19:17, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Men's 5K World record

[edit]

Cheptegei broke the 5km world record just a few days ago so I don't see how the date in the table is accurate — Preceding unsigned comment added by 45.119.156.116 (talk) 04:44, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You are wrong. Cheptegei broke the 5000m track record. This article is about road course.Montell 74 (talk) 20:35, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

My article evaluation

[edit]

I chose this article because I use to run track in Highschool. I was never very good at running but I always tried my best when it came to the 5k run. I would try to do the 5k run on my own. After putting hard work and sweat into the 5k it has a special place in my heart. This article popped out to me because it has sufficient knowledge on the 5k run. This article is completely relevant to the topic. All the information is related to some aspect of running 5k. 5k run is up to date with the information it is presenting. There could be more content added. The article does not relate to historically unprecedented populations or topics. The article seems to have more biased view point. The viewpoint does not come of as neutral. There are some claims that seem to be biased. The article gives its pros and cons for 5k run which is a plus point. The whole article does not have multiple view points. The sources in 5k are relatable to the article itself. The sources give good examples of real world events which relate to the article. The links work. Some of the sources are current, dating up to 2020. The sources are diverse which gives multiple perspectives. Milinpatel1369 (talk) 15:25, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Beth Potter 14:41

[edit]

Beth Potter's unofficial 14:41 surely deserves a spot in women's top-25, it's certainly as relevant as Jepkosgei's 14:32 TacoJim (talk) 11:07, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
