Most nominations[edit]

Would it make sense to split this between comedy, drama and reality? Something like the Amazing Race seems like it should be on the list. I think 7 nominations for a reality show is pretty notable.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 05:05, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a set limit of the number of nominations to list? Cutoff at 10 or 5? If you allow listing nominees down to 5, think of how big the section would be. Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming Less Than One Hour)[edit]

Why isn't the category "Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming Less Than One Hour)" listed? Theleftorium ^(talk) 09:55, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For some reason, that category is listed in the "Creative Arts Awards", of which there are too many to list, because you can't just list a few. They do belong on this page but would stretch the page/cause lengthy load times. — WylieCoyote (talk) 21:38, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I created the Creative Arts article and wikilinked it to the main one here. There are nominations there that aren't listed here, like Outstanding Animated Program and Outstanding Voice-Over Performance. Guest acting and Variety, Music or Comedy Special[edit]

The 4 guest acting awards and Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special are considered "Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Awards" and are found at 64th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. I have removed them from this page with a link to that separate article. I was reverted by an editor with the edit summary, "Guest acting is considered a major award." That is the opinion of the editor, but the fact is the award is a Creative Arts Emmy, given weeks earlier at another ceremony. It is redundant and arbitrary to feature those two Creative Arts Emmys in particular here. -- Wikipedical (talk) 03:19, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not going by my personal opinion. Check out the sidebar on this page [1]. They only include the major awards there, and that includes the guest acting awards. And now that I think about it, it doesn't really even make sense to have to separate pages in the first place. There aren't that many creative Emmy awards, and it annoying for readers to have to go on a seperate page just to look it up. JDDJS (talk) 18:09, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It should be left alone. Creative Arts and Emmy Awards are two seperate things (seperate dates, diffrents kind of categories) and it would very confusing for readers. It will be cofusing to readers since they won't knowthe difference beeteween the Creative Arts and what are the Emmys. Also, I disagree, they are lots of Creative Arts categories (more than the Emmys Ones.) Therefore, the article would become very lenghty and IMO would lack of serious visual appeal. — SoapFan12 ^Talk

"Most" sections[edit]

What exactly are the Most major nominations and Most major awards sections supposed to list? If they are supposed to be totals by program and network for the awards listed in the Programs, Acting, Directing, and Writing (but oddly not Hosting) sections above for just this year (not records for all years), they don't seem to add up. Examples:

Noms:

Mad Men – appears 9 (not 11) times in the individual award sections. I'll note also that the lede section says they received 17 noms. Is this including the technical categories, which are supposed to be the subject of another article?
Breaking Bad – appears 6 (not 7) times.
Saturday Night Live – appears 5 (not 8) times.
HBO – appears 28 (not 30) times.
NBC – appears 15 (not 27) times.

Awards:

ABC – won 4 (not 5) times.
CBS – won 2 (not 5) times.
FX – won 2 (not 3) times.
