Out of Date[edit]

The article does not reflect the unit's current deployment. The article is quite out of date. Paul, in Saudi (talk) 03:32, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a source please update it. If there isn't a source please remember that the goal of Wikipedia is not to be up to the second news source but rather an encyclopedia with verifiable information, even if that information is a bit dated.--Ndunruh (talk) 13:53, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I did make a few updates. Still don't mind me overly much. I was going over the recent casualty list and looking up the units. Few of the pages are even close to reflecting the combat tours. This led me to grumble about the lack of unit pride, the lack of espirit. So just in general I am being a grumpy old vet. Paul, in Saudi (talk) 15:56, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Of note, the Air Force deploys a bit differently than the Army does (at least it has in OEF and OIF). Most units themselves do not deploy, but rather deploy their personnel to separate 'expeditionary' units in a forward location while the unit a member is permanently assigned to remains in garrison. It’s a bit screwed up if you ask me, but most Air Force bases are still run by active duty personnel and they must continue to operate while some members deploy to support operations downrange; regular units remain in place to organize, train, and equip while expeditionary units carry out combat missions for a COCOM. I don’t know if rescue squadrons deploy as units or if their members deploy to expeditionary units. So long story short, while 66 RQS personnel were killed that doesn’t necessarily mean that the 66 RQS itself deployed.--Ndunruh (talk) 03:27, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
