Lead[edit]

  • "recorded by American singer Beyoncé from the reissue" for the reiusse
 DoneVersaceSpace 🌃 02:01, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The song was written by Beyoncé and Alonzo Holt" the infobox says otherwise
 FixedVersaceSpace 🌃 02:01, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • "with some of them praising its club-ready and frenetic sound while others criticized its use of auto-tune" with some praising its [...] sound and others criticizing its use of auto-tune
 DoneVersaceSpace 🌃 16:05, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • What do we mean by "on the visual album"?
Well, it's not really a visual album, but this refers to the other videos for the album's songs. I changed the wording. —VersaceSpace 🌃 02:01, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Background[edit]

  • "... containing a disc on the album" start a new sentence; "The Platinum Edition contains..."
 DoneVersaceSpace 🌃 15:46, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • We don't have a source for the Skrillex and Diplo remix
I removed it at first, but then I found a source. —VersaceSpace 🌃 15:46, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Composition[edit]

Linked the two terms, I don't see any other ones in this section. —VersaceSpace 🌃 15:50, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Nicki Minaj–esque wails" POV
minus RemovedVersaceSpace 🌃 15:50, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Critical reception[edit]

  • Remove The Michigan Daily as it is a student paper and not a professional source
Removed throughout the article —VersaceSpace 🌃 15:52, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Chart performance[edit]

  • The lead mentions that this song peaked at #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, but here it only mentions the #3 debut
Peak added —VersaceSpace 🌃 16:33, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • We are lacking the Australian chart sources
I removed that sentence because I think it's indiscriminate (peaked below top 40), and the song only charted for one week. —VersaceSpace 🌃 15:59, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • It is worth mentioning chart positions in other countries as well. I am seeing France, Hungary, and Slovakia as potentially useful
France is already mentioned, I'll add Hungary since it's a fairly high position, same with Slovakia. —VersaceSpace 🌃 15:59, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ippantekina: How do you suggest I source this? —VersaceSpace 🌃 16:43, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@VersaceSpace: You can add the |refname= parameter in the {{single chart}} template to call it in the prose. Ippantekina (talk) 01:41, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Music video[edit]

 DoneVersaceSpace 🌃 16:02, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Spin's Andrew Unterberger felt that the "slight and formless" song lacked hooks by Beyoncé's standards" shouldn't this be in the "Critical reception" section?
Rephrased, because this was introducing an important opinion about the video —VersaceSpace 🌃 16:02, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • "on the visual album Beyoncé" needs some context; probably explain this in the "Background" section
@Ippantekina: "7/11", while having a music video, is not actually part of the "visual album" since it's on the Platinum Edition (other songs on the Platinum Edition do not have a video {ex. Ring Off}; "7/11" has one only because it received promo). So I don't know how appropriate it would be to describe this in the background section. —VersaceSpace 🌃 18:00, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@VersaceSpace: From what I understand, you could explain in the "Background" section that Beyonce the visual album includes a music video to each song (because "visual album" is an uncommon concept), and also add that the extra Platinum Edition tracks do not have a corresponding music video like the standard edition tracks. Ippantekina (talk) 01:13, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ippantekina: The other Platinum Edition songs not having music videos is way out of this article's scope. Ditto with the parent project being described as a visual album, and I do not see how a whole paragraph in the background is warranted because of one reviewer's quote. At that point it makes more sense to shorten the quote. I've only tried for ten minutes so far but I reckon that a source describing the second part of your suggestion will be next to impossible to find, much less a reliable one. —VersaceSpace 🌃 01:38, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@VersaceSpace: Then I'd suggest removing the "visual album" quote and rephrasing it to something like "Compared to the music videos of other Beyonce songs". Ippantekina (talk) 01:40, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
RM'd the word visual. —VersaceSpace 🌃 01:44, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And I think that summarizes your concerns, @Ippantekina: anything else I missed? —VersaceSpace 🌃 01:45, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Passing the article now :) Ippantekina (talk) 01:47, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The rest of the article seems fine. Putting this on hold for seven days. Ippantekina (talk) 08:33, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your review, Ippantekina. I'm working on the fixes, but sadly you caught me in the midst of an emergency trip to the Dominican Republic due to familial issues and I'm not sure if the review will be addressed in 7 days. Would an extension be permitted? —VersaceSpace 🌃 21:38, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, ping me when you're back from vacay. Have a great trip! Ippantekina (talk) 01:37, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ippantekina: thx, and your patience is very appreciated. Flight back home scheduled and I'll be home next weekend (23-hour flight; sigh). I've been on a bit, the request for an extension was because I didn't have the time to peruse sources from 2014. I'll make the remaining fixes this week or over the weekend when I'm back home. Again: thank you for waiting. —VersaceSpace 🌃 21:06, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, but I have to set a deadline here: let's wrap things up by September 5. Ippantekina (talk) 09:33, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
