I found File:911th Patch.JPG and noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. Someone will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If it was obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. Unsupported Comment[edit]

The follwoing comments are nothing short of silly: "The 911th Engineer Company is an elite unit consisting of specialized personnel and top-dollar equipment. They are also not as limited as other agencies within the United States Department of Defense. Although part of the U.S. Army, the unit has very few restrictions when it comes to basic rules. The unit is part of a larger chain of command as any military unit is, except for the fact that the distance between the "Top" and the unit itself is relatively short."

They reflect unsupported comments that are clearly someone's personal opinion vice actual doctrinal and operational concepts.

This comment is flat out wrong, as the MDW CG does not report direct to the President. "The MDW Commanding General is the overall authority for the use and long-term implementation of the 911th Engineer Company, and he or she reports to the President of the United States.[citation needed]"

In both cases, the comments sounds as if they were written by some 21 year old PFC who has an inflated opinion about his unit and has no idea how doctrinally the unit is tasked or operates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.76.170.229 (talk) 20:48, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The 911th Engineer Company reports to the 12th Aviation Battalion, who reports to the Army Air Operations Group, who reports to the MDW commander, who reports to the Chief of Staff of the Army. The unit does not report directly to the President.

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Clarification & Terminology[edit]

"It is one of the only technical rescue companies in the United States Department of Defense." Are there other technical rescue units in the DOD? If so, are all such designated as 'companies'? Would 'units' be a better term for use here? Irish Melkite (talk) 23:16, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
