I just realized that the redirect from ASEA IRB exists and is in order. So it works as expected. Now what is missing is the connection to the Swedish ABB Robotics. --Dependability (talk) 10:44, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me to create the english article ABB Robotics connected to the swedish article with the same name. Content is now included in the english article ASEA IRB.--Dependability (talk) 10:22, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unsure sales years[edit]

Unsure about the sales years. A picture with the proper copyright would be nice! Electron9 10:54, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First robot with six electromechanically driven axes[edit]

Regarding to the German robotics company KUKA, they built already íIn 1973 its first industrial robot, known as FAMULUS. This was the world's first robot with six electromechanically driven axes. And of course its was microprocessed controlled (SIEMENS). So I think information about ASEA IRB regarding "worldwide first" is wrong. Unfortunatly I did not found e neutral source for this information, whether KUKA or ASEA had built the first robot with fully electromechanically driven axes. ASEA vs ABB in title[edit]

The Title of this page is missleading and I would like to edit it to read ABB IRB (formerly ASEA) as this better reflects the current situation and ownership of the mark IRB. This page can then link to the ABB group page.Robot Legend (talk) 16:01, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Robot was manufactured during the ASEA period. The ABB company is a whole another company and thus doesn't reflect the circumstances where it were created. Electron9 (talk) 03:44, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
