Redundancy?[edit]

One paragraph in this article is identical to the Peter Jennings article by every word. It doesnt give much more information to be gained from reading the Peter Jennings article. Im going to remove some of this information, and hopefully somone with more knowledge in the topic can post some more information into it, rather then just repeat what has already been said in other articles. -Plasticman— Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.220.99.8 (talk) 01:34, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

variety of anchors?[edit]

If I remember clearly, I think the only anchors that filled in for Peter Jennings before his death were Elizabeth Vargas, Charles Gibson, Bob Woodruff, and maybe Terry Moran. I don't exactly call that a variety. -Jonyyeh— Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.226.27.219 (talk) 05:14, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

toolbar on the bottom[edit]

Does anybody know how I can fix that toolbar that has links to all the anchors of WNT? There are mistakes (Reynolds is listed twice; Young directs to the wrong article). Thanks. Thistheman 03:11, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Note that the "Bob Young" link is now red due to the nonexistence of an article on the news anchor. Also, Reynolds was listed twice due to his two differenciating hosting timeframes, however this is not a good format. To perform your own edits on templates such as those, follow the following link, replacing the template name with the desired template : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:ABCEveningNewsAnchors. — CRAZY`(IN)`SANE 03:19, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome. I was trying to find the link to that template alone, but for some reason it just wasn't coming up. Thanks for the fix; it looks much better now. Thistheman 03:27, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"World News with Charles Gibson" title[edit]

Because this article also has content on "World News Saturday" and "World News Sunday", I would prefer its title be something more generic like "World News" or "ABC's World News". But since the title was only changed recently, I might wait to see what eventually becomes the common name used by most people. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 22:55, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Funny, IMDB currently still uses the title "ABC Evening News"; scroll down to the "Also known as"...[1] Zzyzx11 (Talk) 23:14, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • ABC World News is a better title IMO. - Mike Beckham 04:35, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Now with the announcement that Diane Sawyer is taking over in 2010, I really, really would prefer a generic title. We should not have a situation where the title of this article needs to change everytime somebody takes over the anchor desk (unless this page is split). Zzyzx11 (talk) 15:57, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1st place[edit]

World News has come from all the way back at no. 3 to now become the leading broadcast evening news program (mid-Feb. '07). This should be mentioned. -Amit— Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.177.246.198 (talk) 07:26, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:WNT HIRES 47W2 Hallway.jpg[edit]

Image:WNT HIRES 47W2 Hallway.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:56, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

noteworthy?[edit]

Pending changes[edit]

This article is currently under pending changes. Please remember that any content regarding criticism during Diane Sawyer's tenure must be verifiable and cited, using a reliable source. Thank you for your cooperation. Zzyzx11 (talk) 21:40, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New article title[edit]

As I stated above, I still prefer a generic title for this article, without the primary weeknight anchor. We should not have a situation where the title of this article is radically changed every time somebody takes over the anchor desk (unless this page is split, separating the weeknight editions from the weekend ones). In addition, somebody else anchors the weekend editions, so it is not always "ABC World News with [PRIMARY WEEKNIGHT NEWS ANCHOR]" or "ABC World News Tonight with [PRIMARY WEEKNIGHT NEWS ANCHOR]". This is consistent with the concise titles of the CBS Evening News and the NBC Nightly News pages. Its not "CBS Evening News with Cronkite/Rather/Couric/Pelley/etc." or "NBC Nightly News with Chancellor/Brokaw/Williams/etc.". Zzyzx11 (talk) 04:35, 29 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

After examining the page move logs, apparently an editor moved ABC World News to ABC World News Tonight with David Muir as a "quick switch". I assume that at the time this user could not move the page directly to ABC World News Tonight because of the technical reason that was already an existing page there (a redirect back to this article). As I have administrator privilege, I have treated this as a uncontroversial technical request, and moved the page to ABC World News Tonight. If there are objections, and believe "with David Muir" should be in the title, please consider requested moves, because that will now be considered as "controversial" per the reasons I previously stated. Cheers. Zzyzx11 (talk) 05:15, 29 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The great overseer[edit]

I am Andrew Kinser from flat rock al. 35966. I invite anyone to come interview me for a talk on government conspiracy. They have used meand manipulated my family. They have taken away many of my civil liberties. I have a gift that I can't explain. But it involves the military, CIA, FBI, DEA, State and local officials. Please contact me or come to 3325 co. rd. 14 flat rock Alabama 35966. andrewkinser2@gmail.com, doodie1476@gmail.com, . I also invite anyone that would like to represent me in a lawsuit that I believe could be one of the biggest lawsuits in history. I estimate a trillion dollar lawsuit that if awarded I will help anyone that will help me . I can simply gift you will an ability that can either be bad or good , depending on my mood .With simply a touch from my hand. I believe this to be a top secret government installation that is a proving ground for experimental projects that involve people with gifts like I have called psionics. It is the ability to manipulate with the power of the mind and be able to communicate without speaking a word. I do not know the extent of my abilities, but invite anyone that has knowledge of this to help me develop it and use it for good purposes only. I was an atheist before this, but I believe God gave me the gift because I am the most fair and forgiving person that has ever been. He has made me a believer out of me. I live a very simple life and always put others before myself. I feel betrayed by the country I love and they have tried to manipulate me and I have simply beaten their tests and they are frustrated by this. When I do as I am told I am never rewarded, only penalized when I do not adhere to their demands. They have taken my mobile device and I only have email to communicate. Please help me and come to visit as long as you have good intentions, if not please stay away. Many thanks, Andrew Brawner Kinser 207.171.231.186 (talk) 14:34, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Auto insurance coverage[edit]

There are so many commercials about low price auto insurance. People need to be aware if they don't have enough insurance. Most lawyers claim big settlements. However depending on the amount of coverage purchased determines how much you can get regardless of what you were awarded. You may have to sue to get your money. You are still responsible for medical bills even if your the victim. Life force alone can be up to 50,000 dollars. My nephew was hit by someone with only 25 000 in coverage and no assets. Most pe ople don't know this. Thank you Nick Hall 423-479-2394. hallndh16526@gmail.com 2600:1700:5F42:4C60:F072:6DA:951D:D90F (talk) 17:10, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Orphans of COVID[edit]

Dear David Muir

I watch your news every night. But tonight I cried thinking about all these children losing their family members. Due to COVID because I totally understand because I lost both parents and my baby sister. At the age of 8 due to a car accident it was very hard being 8 and losing most of my immediate family. I cried for these children because I feel like this is something I would love to be able to help some or even just 1 child or even help find people willing to help these children. I really hope this reaches you David please reach out to me I want to help. My name is Andrea Cortez. I have raised my children but I still have more love to give. This story really hit home for me. 2600:1700:8472:1210:9060:3B4D:753C:A986 (talk) 00:35, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

David’apparel[edit]

Please for heavens sake, get this man some new ties and suits. He has worn the same five ties for years. Our tv anchor in the depressed area of Johnstown, makes David look like a pauper. It is so distracting how he dresses that I cannot watch anymore 138.207.168.62 (talk) 18:04, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Trump[edit]

Watching the news tonight and you talking about him being a dictator if he gets into office. You people are so biased and you twist anything and everything he says he said what he would do on the first day he would shut the border but no you don’t hear that and blow everything out of context. You all are the problem shame on you! It’s like you want this country to go down. He wanted to help stop what was happening on Jan 6 and the CIA SAID NO YOU SHOULDNT , but no you tell anything but lies. 2603:9001:470E:9F00:85D3:9ADF:AF2E:C3CE (talk) 23:55, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Commercials.[edit]

You guys are as bad as Dan Abrams with 8 minutes of commercials with 10 minutes left. At least change your motto “when we come back”. The other guy has “ let’s get in a break”. Seriously, very annoying. 24.184.103.50 (talk) 22:59, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
