History

[edit]

I went through the history of the article and saw how thick it used to be and how thin it is right now. As a user of ACD Systems I am disappointed. I remember I used to use Fotocanvas for all my editing. It was a fun software. This page doesn't even mention it anymore.

I hate how admins trim articles because they rely on primary references.--Cube b3 (talk) 04:40, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Founder

[edit]

Who on earth founded this company? I can't find information anywhere.--Adoniscik 04:04, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I could only find the following [1] that does not mention much else!! (edit:[[2]] found only curent info) gioto (talk) 01:02, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Off-topic

An anti-spyware program has this evening asked me to approve a registry change entry for a program C:\WINNT\MSVCRT20.exe that was created this evening, and saying that the entity behind is ACD Systems. Hmmm. I didn't install anything this evening! Viewing with suspicion at the very, very least. DellusMaximus (talk) 20:07, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an encyclopedia project, not a software help forum. Please keep your comments on the topic of improving this article article. Other than that, if memory serves, msvcrt20.exe is a buggy Microsoft module that needs to be updated in older Windows operating systems for ACDSee to run properly. If you installed ACDSee recently, the upgrade may have been done during program installation. —QuicksilverT @ 08:51, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming to Canvax X not a good idea

[edit]

The "X" stands for version 10, in roman numerals. The article should not have a version specific title. --L.Willms (talk) 18:44, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Citation issue

[edit]

Following the provided link I could not find support for: ...because the filmmakers recognized that only "ACDSee could provide the illustration, editing, and management tools required for their large-scale, complex development tasks and management requirements."

There are a couple issues: 1) The link seems to not provide a source that actually contains that statement. 2) The wiki link at the bottom of the page contains the quote but the word "only" which immediately precedes, is omitted from the link citation. This word is quite critical, because to support it, one would need evidence that other products do not or can not support those claims. The word "only" should be removed if this can not be shown/supported. A claim from the manufacturer isn't reasonable support. 3)It reads like an advertisement, with name dropping. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.70.84.74 (talk) 21:57, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
